Artists Development Space

The ‘Artist Development Space’ at B-CAF serves as a dynamic hub for independent artists, providing a space for collaborations, conversations, experimentation, creation, showcasing and reflection. Our multi-arts organization offers essential amenities, including a cozy green room alongside a rehearsal/performance space, a well-equipped kitchen, library, the residency space ‘Arts Nest’ and an exhibition space with a grid. This environment is designed to nurture creativity and provide comprehensive support to artists.

Within the ‘Artists Development Space,’ the ‘The Yellow Door’ initiative celebrates human diversity in art through curated exhibitions, showcasing events, conversations, seminars and impactful film screenings. Our commitment extends beyond mere dialogue, as we actively engage in practical skill-building to equip artists with the tools they need to effectively present their work in gallery settings.

The Yellow Door

The Yellow Door is where inclusivity takes centre stage

With the colour yellow symbolizing openness and acceptance, it’s a haven free from any discrimination based on age, gender identity, sexuality, family, genre, school, race, disabilities, religion or caste. Here, what truly matters is the artist’s work, journey, and story. The Yellow Door transcends societal divides, celebrating the kaleidoscope of human experiences and talents. The Yellow Door initiative celebrates human diversity in art through curated exhibitions/showcasing, conversation, seminars and powerful film screenings. Our work extends beyond dialogue and into practical skill-building, as we prepare artists to showcase their work effectively in gallery settings.

Arts Nest

Arts Nest is a space for Artists to nest and explore

Nestled amidst Kolkata’s architectural marvels while collaborating with local artists, delve into the rich tapestry of Bengali tradition, transcending the confines of their art. Interaction with the local culture unravels a treasure trove of history and architecture, inspiring new perspectives. As the artists explore Kolkata’s maze of narrow alleys, they savour local cuisine, indulging in flavours that tantalize the senses. The city’s storied textile industry serves as a wellspring of inspiration, weaving contemporary art with heritage. In Kolkata, art blooms within a canvas of culture, taste, and tradition.
